A friendly reminder for our wonderful clients:
A valid veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR) is required by law in order for patients to receive any prescription product. This includes prescription medications, heartworm prevention, oral flea and tick preventions, and prescription diets such as Hill’s Prescription Diet, Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets and Royal Canin Veterinary Diets. See below important information from Penn Vet
"Ryan Hospital Bulletin Regarding Canine Influenza Outbreak
• In recent weeks, we have detected an abnormally high number of cases of
highly contagious canine influenza in dogs from our region via rt-PCR.
• Recent sequencing points to the H3N2 canine influenza strain which has
been reported to infect cats; current transmissibility is unknown.
• While clinical signs may be similar to bordetellosis/kennel cough, the primary
viral infection will not respond to antimicrobial therapy.
• Veterinary clinics can attempt to identify cases prior to entrance into a
facility and prevent mixing with general patient populations.
• Vaccine availability is currently limited.
• We are encouraging clients and employees to avoid multi-pet situations (i.e.
dog parks, boarding facilities) while cases are high and asymptomatic
shedding is possible.

New Appointment Policy:
Due to ever increasing demand for appointments and frequent last-minute cancellations and no-shows, clients will be charged the cost of an office visit if an appointment is cancelled without 24 hours notice OR if a client simply does not show for their appointment. We have many clients waiting for appointments, and it is simply unacceptable to schedule appointments and then cancel the appointment with no time for our office to add a new pet to this appointment time. In an effort to meet the needs of all of our clients, this policy will be enforced, effective November 1st, 2022.
